Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
The short version
- You don’t need an account. We don’t ask for your name, email or password to use the timer.
- Your tasks, settings and focus stats are saved only in your own browser. We don’t receive them.
- We show ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies. You can control these (see section 4).
- We never sell your personal information.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how studystimer.com (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you visit our website and use our free online study and focus timer, task list, sound mixer and related pages (the “Service”). If you have any questions, contact us at Info@studystimer.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you enter in the tool
When you use the timer, you may type a name for the greeting, add tasks, choose timer lengths, paste music or background links and pick a theme. This information is stored in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not sent to our servers, and we cannot see it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web host and our advertising partners may automatically receive technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, referring page and the date and time of your visit. This is used to deliver the page, keep the site secure and understand how it is used.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
3. How we use information
- To run, maintain and improve the Service.
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse.
- To measure traffic and understand which features are useful.
- To show advertising that helps keep the Service free.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To meet legal obligations.
4. Cookies, local storage and advertising
Local storage
The timer uses your browser’s local storage to remember your tasks, settings, stats and preferences. You can remove this at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings. Doing so will reset your saved tasks and stats.
Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, measure visits and show ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may not work as expected.
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising identifiers, to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, where the law requires it.
5. Third-party services
The Service uses or links to the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy, and we do not control how they handle information.
- Google Fonts is loaded to display text. Your IP address and browser details are sent to Google when the font file is requested.
- YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud content is loaded only when you paste a link into the music box or choose a YouTube background. These services may set their own cookies and collect information about your use of their players.
- Search links. The music search buttons open YouTube, Spotify or SoundCloud in a new tab. We don’t receive what you search for.
- Analytics (ANALYTICS: delete this item if you do not use Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Hosting and security providers process technical data to deliver the website and protect it from attacks.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the website (such as hosting, advertising and analytics providers), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, users or the security of the Service.
7. How long we keep information
Data stored in your browser stays there until you clear it. Technical logs kept by our host and partners are held for the periods set by those providers. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because the information you enter in the timer stays on your device, you can view or delete it yourself by clearing site data.
California residents: You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Advertising cookies may count as “sharing” under some laws, and you can opt out using the Google and industry links in section 4.
To make a request, email Info@studystimer.com. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on it.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians should supervise younger users, especially when they use music or video links.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the website, including secure (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Links to other websites
Our pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Please check back occasionally.
13. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or your information, email us at Info@studystimer.com.
